When Melissa, an artist and small business owner, told me that she and her fiancé were having their wedding at Donaldson Farm in Hackettstown, I knew it would be visually rich with details. After all, artists put a lot of thought and consideration into details. Melissa is a “traveling art instructor bringing “studio instruction” to parties of all kinds.” How cool is that?! Instead of going to a studio space, she brings the party to you! When the wedding day rolled around, It definitely lived up to expectations! I could see how much work the couple had put into the details, and much of the decor was handmade.
The ceremony took place in a spot that overlooked the farm. Guests were seated on burlap covered hay bales and each row was separated by a pretty mason jar bouquet. The bride, her father and bridesmaids were driven to the ceremony by hayride pulled by a tractor. Later guests made their way to the reception tent for dinner, dancing and a gorgeous sunset behind them.
The hillside, the on-site apple orchard, the fire pit surrounded by benches just outside the reception tent, the kids – I mean literally – the kid goats on the farm all added to the rustic, country-esque feel of the day. It was such a well-thought out, beautiful event. Take a peek inside this memorable day! And when you’re finished, I invite you to check out Melissa’s Facebook business page over at The Thirsty Artist NJ- traveling painting instructor ! 🙂
